Boats and Barbecues have nothing in common. Except, if you make a barbecue…in the shape of a boat (or something boat related). That’s what SSI is asking people to do (and design it using ShipConstructor CAD /CAM software of course.) We’re going to use this for a practical purpose. For the last number of years, we’ve invited a number of clients near our SSI USA office in Mobile, Alabama to come to the Senior Bowl College Football All-star game and also to attend our “tailgate” party.
The party happened in January and at the event, Pat Roberts announced that next year’s event was going to be better than ever…because SSI clients would use ShipConstructor software to make a metal barbecue in the shape of a ship.
We’re giving people incentives to do this. It’s a competition. We call it the “Greatest Grill Showdown”. And we’re offering valuable prizes to the winner.
If you were at the event with Pat, you know the details. We also sent out a press release about this a few weeks ago so if you want to know the rules and specifications, you should read the press release and the brochure we created regarding the Greatest Grill.
But there’s one thing we didn’t even think of until some of our clients mentioned it…
Making a ship-shaped barbecue grill using ShipConstructor is actually a perfect project for training! We’ve even heard people talking about using this to evaluate job prospects—see what they can do. Stay tuned for more details on the Greatest Grill Showdown. We can’t wait to see some of the designs.
